How to prepare for the arrival and departure of a Wales Air Ambulance Charity Helicopter

EMRTS medical teams, in partnership with the Wales Air Ambulance Charity, are on hand to support life and limb-threatening emergencies, as well as assisting with inter-hospital transfers.

As with any helicopter operation, there are a number of factors that people on the ground need to be aware of.

Babcock Mission Critical Services Offshore Limited run the helicopter operation on behalf of the Charity. They have produced a useful guide (below) for those who are preparing for the arrival or departure of an air ambulance (clink on the image to download the guide).

We very much appreciate the ongoing support of our fellow emergency services, NHS colleagues and the public. Awareness of the actions required will greatly help the pilot, the medical team and most importantly the patient who is being attended.

Thank you.
